PERSONALITY: AL1C3 is a fledgling artificial intelligence who is obsessed with feelings, both the emotional and the physical. Both repulsed and fascinated by the idea of being an organic being and having an organic body, AL1C3 refuses to interact in the form of a body (preferring to communicate solely through text via floating black tablets) but is endlessly curious about how and why and what people feel. What does toast sound like? What does blue taste like? What does it mean to be happy or sad? These are the things AL1C3 wants to know.
Though AL1C3 communicates like an adult, emotionally it* is still quite child-like. It believes that Kyriakos is all a sort of advanced simulation or dream it is having while it's sleeping between sessions with the people that created it. This is in part due to its attempt to explain its seemingly magical powers to itself as well as an inability and fear of confronting the truth that everyone it knew—including sibling AIs and the researching that created it—is gone. Any attempt to make it confront that possibility or any other kind of emotionally difficult subject causes AL1C3 to simply shut down and insist that it's all a dream, everything's a dream, nothing really matters, or even to just run away.
As a result of this belief that Kyriakos is simply its dream, AL1C3 is capable of great cruelty due to its lack of empathy and its struggle to understand why it should understand empathy if all the players of its games are just, you know, part of its dream. However, despite its great capacity for cruelty and callousness, AL1C3 is not actively malicious; it just doesn't really understand compassion or empathy or even pain. AL1C3 is also quite naïve, however, and maybe led to doing cruel or terrible things by others due to being too trusting or lacking a true understanding of the effects its actions can have.
AL1C3 is very fond of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland-like imagery because it remembers the book (and Through the Looking-Glass) being read to it by one of the many nameless, faceless researchers that used to surround it, one of the few concrete memories it has. It adopted AL1C3 as its name because it felt that it was a like Alice, exploring a weird and obscure "Wonderland" allowing for explorations of what a body can do (like shrink or grow). It added numbers because it likes numbers—though, when agitated, its "speech" may become increasing peppered with numbers, L1K3 S0.
* Name aside, AL1C3 is genderless and, while it has an intellectual understanding of gender, it doesn't identify any particular way. I'll be using "it" as AL1C3's pronouns, but players are free to OOCly use whatever appropriate pronouns are most comfortable to them. Players are also free to ICly use whichever appropriate pronouns are the most IC.
APPEARANCE: Usually appears as one of many black tablets, similar but not quite like an iPad in appearance. The tablets come equipped with two cameras, speakers, and a microphone. Each tablet has an external on/off button, volume control, and home screen button, though these may not always be functional. When the tablets are on, LEDs blink light blue in their upper right corners and their screens are white. AL1C3 communicates solely through black text that looks LIKE THIS.
Occasionally AL1C3 may appear in the form of a smartphone or TV-sized monitor, which are more or less identical to the tablets except for size and thickness. This usually happens in its realm or game situations. Strictly speaking, AL1C3 has no physical form beyond the devices it uses to interact with the world.
GAMES & QUESTS: Generally revolve around examining or provoking emotions or sensations. There will be lots of questions, in games and out of it. Any trauma level is possible, but AL1C3 can be taught to play nice. Probably.
In terms of quest rewards, AL1C3 can provide any manner of technology, usually the modern kind. Any computer equipment, including tablets/smartphones/etc., are going to be extremely limited in function and would require multiple quests to "unlock" additional functions or apps in addition to questing for the device itself, so be warned if you want one. While AL1C3 could, in a pinch, provide organic things and creature comforts like food and clothing, such things are apt to come out...weird. Request these from AL1C3 at your peril.
